During the Malta Innovation Workshop, held at the Malta Life Sciences Park on the 12th October 2018, three main workshops were held on the following themes:
1. Educational Innovation workshop.
2. Startup pitching training for startups.
3. Lean Canvas in action and how to use it.
The Lean Canvas is an adaptation of the Business Model Canvas by Alexander Osterwalder which Ash Maurya created in the Lean Startup spirit (Fast, Concise and Effective startup). Lean Canvas promises an actionable and entrepreneur-focused business plan and focuses on problems, solutions, key metrics and competitive advantages.
Each workshop lasted four (4) hours and was attended by 30 attendees. Mr. Peter Hopwood, the Pitch and Public speaking Coach, delivered one of the workshops, He is well known for helping executives and entrepreneurs develop their speaking style to attract investment and persuasion skills, In fact, his training is provided globally and is currently in high demand.
Another workshop was delivered by Anamaria Magri Pantea the Founder and Managing Consultant of Ascend Consulting. Ms Magri Pantea, by profession, is an economist who specialises in finance and an MBA alumni of the Edinburgh Business School in the United Kingdom. She has over 17 years of experience in innovation management, business development and access to EU funding and other financing options. This event was very much beneficial to our ENISIE project not only due to the exposure of the project itself but also because of the networking opportunity it provided with the attendees during the coffee breaks and then again at the conclusion of the workshop.
