A BRIEF PRESENTATION OF ENISIE – Enabling Network-based Innovation through Services and Institutional Engagement

Taking a bottom-up approach and starting from the new generation of the economic and entrepreneurial tissue (innovative start-ups with a social vocation), ENISIE aims to contribute to the smart, sustainable and inclusive growth of the cross-border area using an integrated approach which enables the involvement and stimulation of decision makers to start reform processes in line with the Europe 2020 objectives.
Furthermore, ENISIE intends to support the creation and strengthening of companies (micro, small and medium) of the cross-border area in the sectors of social enterprise and corporate social responsibility through: the experimentation of new services to social business; the promotion of contexts and practices of social innovation; the consolidation of a cross-border platform dedicated to social innovation and, moreover, the promotion of targeted public and institutional awareness actions on the subject.

The success of the project lies in its ability to exploit the asymmetries and complementarities that are not fully appreciated by the two involved territories, to accelerate innovation in key areas such as digital health, food tech, sustainable tourism, seasonally adjusted and experiential, circular mobility of young qualified people and finally, to implement the process of internationalization and consolidation of innovative SMEs on both sides of the cross-border territories.

The innovation of ENISIE is not only expressed in its prevalent subject of intervention of social innovation, but also in its fourfold novelty of its implementation method. ENISIE makes use of a bottom up approach derived from the direct experiences of practitioners, targets incubators of enterprises and social innovation, differentiates in its handling of policies, practices and enablers and finally adopts a holistic method by maintaining a balanced overview approach between business and social.
